Ft. Worth — Score fast, score often. That has been the modus operandi for the Navasota Rattlers this season and Friday night was no different.
Navasota, the top-ranked team in Class 4A-Division II, scored on its first five possessions of the game on its way to a 56-3 thumping of the Castleberry Lions (0-4) at W.O. Barnes Stadium in the Rattlers’ (5-0) final non-district contest.
NAVASOTA, Texas — Big first halves are becoming the norm for the Navasota Rattler football team and Friday night was no different.
The Rattlers (4-0) scored on six of their seven possessions in the first 24 minutes of play en route to a 49-10 thumping of the Rogers Heritage War Eagles (1-2) on Homecoming night at Rattler Stadium.
“I thought we came out on fire,” Navasota head coach Lee Fedora said. “We were uncertain what we were going to see but our kids came out and we struck early and we struck often and our defense played well.”
Second-ranked Navasota found itself in a dogfight against Coldspring on a wet and windy night at Rattler Stadium, but the Rattlers controlled the second half for a 35-14 victory.
